Park honoring fallen Deputy Zack Parrish opens in Douglas County

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — A new park that opened Saturday in Castle Rock honors Douglas County Deputy Zack Parrish, who was shot and killed while responding to a call on New Year's Eve in 2017.

Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial Park is a 5.5-acre park at 2020 Fiddle Road. It honors the public safety profession and the men and women who work to keep the community safe.

The park features two play structures, picnic pavilions, a multiuse field, pickleball and bocce ball courts, cornhole boards and horseshoe pits.

It also includes a memorial to honor Parrish and public safety personnel.
