TSF Founder Gracie Parrish Miller appears on Fox and Friends with Dan Rooney

Gracie Parrish Miller, Founder of The Shelter Foundation, appeared on ‘Fox & Friends’ with host Ainsley Earhardt along with Folds of Honor founder Dan Rooney to discuss a major announcement from the organization whose goal is that those who protect our freedoms and our families will know they are not forgotten.

The organization, which has long been an advocate for military families is now expanding their mission to include first responder families.

“We tend to take our freedom for granted…the need to help first responders is dramatic,” Rooney said. “There is a 9-1-1 call placed about 240 million times a year. We have millions of first responders out every second of every day coming to our aid in our most dire of circumstances. Our commitment expands today to help the families of first responders.”

As part of the announcement, the inaugural first responder scholarship recipients will be Gracie’s daughters.

“This is God’s mission. He calls us to take care of widows and orphans with the greatest frequency in the Bible,” Rooney announced.

Adds Gracie: “It’s such an incredible gift. In the law enforcement world they always talk about how ‘I’ve got your six’ meaning ‘I’ve got your back.’ Now it feels like Folds of Honor has my six. Our pain is remembered and it’s seen and I don’t have to do this alone.”

Folds of Honor aims to ‘rally patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope.’ Founded in 2007 after Air Force fighter pilot Lt. Col. Dan Rooney returned home from his second tour of duty in Iraq, he became painfully aware of the realities families face when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled. In the 15 years since, they have provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military and now has expanded their mission to the families of America’s first responders. They have awarded more than 44,000 educational scholarships and counting. As part of her support for Folds of Honor, Gracie will also speak and appear at other Folds of Honor events to help raise awareness and support for the mission.

The Shelter Foundation shares in the vision of Folds of Honor of rallying behind the families of our nation’s first responders by bringing hope through support, resources and faith.
